It is now my fourth week living in Downtown Toronto, and every day I feel like I’m noticing new things that I didn’t notice the day prior. When I’m walking around I notice the variety of styles that people are wearing from dress shoes to ties, to cuff links. Even those who are not going to or from their 9-5 jobs have the long fishtail or scooped T-shirts coupled with bracelets, rings, and so on. So, I started researching the brand trends I was noticing and decided to pick up a couple items I liked. I got a mix of things as I need stuff for walking around during the day as well as when I go out with friends to a less casual scene at night. The following are some of the items that I purchased after the research I had done on current trends.
Frank and Oak
Frank and Oak is probably my favourite store I have walked into so far being downtown. They have a ton of nice, high quality clothing at a fair price point. They have pieces for casual wear, as well as nice shirts and pants I would wear out at night. Another cool thing the brand offers is a “style plan” subscription online. In the plan you get to choose up to 5 discounted items per month and they ship it for free. If you don’t like it, it’s free-shipping returns. If you want to read more about the style plan subscription you can visit their website FrankandOak.com/styleplan
I ended up getting a new white button up, nothing too flashy but very high quality and versatile for day and evening wear.
Rise is a Canadian athletic/athleisure brand and it is amazing. I went to a fitness convention this past weekend, and I had the chance to go to the RISE booth to purchase a couple items. Rise is mostly an online store so it was great to go check out the items in person. As I am continuing to grow my athleisure collection, I was very excited to purchase a pair of joggers and a scooped T-shirt. The quality is great, and the price in comparison to what you get from the product is even better.
Having no accessories other than a watch, I decided I wanted to get a couple of bracelets. For myself, I am a big fan of the minimalist look. Following suit with that minimalist style, I wanted something that was nice, but not too abstract or flashy. I wanted something I could wear every day, whether I’m just going for coffee, walking around, or going to a club at night. I think Vitaly
embodies that perfectly. They have high quality products, that are simple in colour and I feel fit my personal style and brand.
