Every woman is different. We can be athletes, busy entrepreneurs, weekend-sunbathers, fashionistas, or a combination of all the above and more! You are a unique woman with your own unique lifestyle and you should have a swimsuit this season to match!
It’s no shock that certain swimsuits don’t work for certain people. I don’t wear one pieces with a large cut out in the middle because they don’t work for me but hey, they might just work for you!! With Victoria’s Secret discontinuing their swim line I definitely had to do a bit of extra research to find some styles but we are in luck! There are many niche swimsuit lines out there that I am sure you are going to love.(Of course read reviews before buying!). Here are some of my fav styles I’ve seen this season and reasons you may be able to rock them!
Sports-Bra Style Coverage Bikini
If you are going to be cruising on surfboards or cliff diving into beautiful swimming holes, I’d suggest a style that is more likely to stay put than the ol’ triangle bikini. These sports bra style tops that resemble a very-cropped spaghetti strap tank-top or bralette have a high chance of staying secure and lessen your chance of having a wee slip-up if you are going to be physically active in the waves this summer. For added security find a top with an elastic at the base! I’m in love with these Velvet styles from Triangl.
Sports Bra with a Zip
Better yet – jazz up the sports bra style with a suit that has a zipper in the middle! Although risky if you see yourself catching the zipper on something, these suits give a little something extra to the sports-bra shape but just as much support! I particularly like the ones featured by Hoaka Swimwear!
Show off that booty-kini
Are you planning to tan a lot this summer and want to get as much coverage as possible? I’ve seen more and more bikini styles opting for a Brazilian style bottom and veering away from the full coverage bottoms. Although not my personal cup-of-tea in terms of what I like I my body shape – I say to you; rock it girl! Hoaka Swimwear has a the booty-kini bottoms that are to die for!
The Plunge Neckline One-Piece
A new take on the traditional one piece bikini – add a little plunge neck! Not only will this open up an opportunity for more coverage from the accidental tan but it adds a little something extra! I love this Portofino one piece from Monday SwimWear because of it’s lovely little plunge neckline and the band running around the bodice for the little added support!
If you fell in love with bralettes this season, I present you the opportunity to continue loving this comforting style! Garage actually has an adorable marble-patterned, bralette-style bikini top right now that has a little tie in the back! This part is just for decoration as it is an additional piece to the already secure top but I definitely think it adds something extra especially if you are looking for a cute style to wear to the pool bar!
High Neck One Piece
If you were like me – you were in shock when Victoria’s Secret removed their swim collection this year! But fear not fellow Victoria’s Secret lover, because we have solace! Pink continues to have their swimwear collection and this year there are some real hits! One of the pieces that caught my eye is the strappy high-neck one piece. It has the tied up neck line in the front and a hot-tamale look back which I fell in love with instantly!
Push-Up Bikini Top
And of course, the tried and true push-up bikini top! This is one of my favourites because it gives the extra lift I need and I don’t get overwhelming, awkward tan-lines which is awesome too!
